How To Rock Autumn 2015

Hot chocolate, warm sweaters, leg warmers and chilly nights for cuddling? Yes please!
I'm obviously excited for the fall season this year, and I hope you are too.
Let's get to some basic trends this year and I'll tell you how to wear them. The best part about this year's trends are cozy (as they should be for autumn!) and really easy to wear. Let's get started.

Some of these looks remain from last year, some are classics and there's a couple entirely new ones...

Crotchet scarves. These have been in and out for years and this season, they're in.
To wear them, make sure your shirt (unlike the pic) is plain. Otherwise, you're layering a design on top of another, which is a no no. I mean for casual situations (like going back to school) I'm sure no one would mind. But, in my mind, these look better with something a little fitted and plain.
Notice how she balances the looseness of the scarf and sweater with a fitted jacket and skinny jeans. She looks great! Also, the ponytail is great for this look so your hair doesn't get frizzy.

Plaid. This counts for everything from plaid button downs, to pleated skirts to flannels... All of which are super cute! There's so many options on this look that it will have a post of it's own within a couple weeks, but I'll give you the basics now.
You can tie it around your waist, wear it as your shirt, or like the pic, you can wear it over your shirt. Most plaids look great with a dark black but for a casual look can be mixed with jeans. Also, instead of pairing plaids with white (especially the red ones) try cream instead. Also, lace looks fantastic with them!

Yes, leg warmers are still in. Can I get a hell yes?! These are simple to wear, so all you need to know is that your jeans need to be tight at your ankles (to prevent bulk) and you should definitely be wearing boots. And, your leg warmers should match your sweater, if the colors are close. That means that if you have a light pink shirt, you can't wear dark pink leg warmers. They either have to be exact or really far off in order to prevent clashing. That also means please no whites and creams together. Try brown and cream, or white and red, but not together, please!

This leads us to combat boots. You can wear skinny jeans tucked into the boots, flared jeans over them or a skirt and no jeans at all. They go with pretty much anything! I like to have mine a little untied (like the pic) to add a little edge into my everyday look. For more info on combat boots, I cover them in my post "Booties had me like..." which is a lame reference to a meme I saw a couple years ago. That post is going through some tough editing though.

Army Fashion. I've already written a post about this (see Army Fashion; Green is a Go) but I'll once again tell you the main details.
1. Army is masculine, so for a balance look, add some feminine. In the pic, everything under the jacket and her gorg hair balances out the look.
2. Balance loose and tight
3. Keep the colors neutral and keep your neons out of it unless you want to look like you're going hunting.

The rest of this post I'll be taking from clips of my last fall post and more recent trends post, so if you recognize them, that's why!:)

1. Knit Sweaters. I'm Knit kidding. These babies are trending, and super easy to pull off. I'm going into chunky sweaters later, but for the knit, since it has a pattern usually, try not to pair it with another one. One of my most basic rules of fashion is to have just one pattern per outfit (or at least three, if you want that mixed and matched chic) so just keep the attention on that sweater! If your sweater isn't loose (if it IS, see chunky sweaters) just pair it with a nice(pair of rolled up)jeans and a pair of sneakers, or, if it's chilly out, some boots and even leg warmers.I honestly like tight sweaters that are feminine to outline your shape.

2. Exaggerated bagginess. I mean, we all love that heavinly, comfortable, loose sweater tucked into our closets, but who knew that lazy day could suddenly be *gasp* fashionable? Well, girls, As Jenna Marbles (Youtube "comidian, " definatly gets girls like us.) would say Boo Boo, I got you. Since I'l be, again, covering chunky sweaters, this one doesn't need much explanation. Just keep it cute by sliding it over your shoulder and keeping it in good shape (Otherwise you'll look like you've been "What, What" Thriftshopping.) and you'll be golden.

3. Fur. Fur real? I know. For fur  (Try saying that three times fast!) just make sure to remember that less is more. Fur, on it's own, is a statement! So, maybe that pink fur coat to your knees really does look like cotton candy, and you should really get the chic black mini jacket... Also made of fur. Personally, I like just a touch such as a vest or scarf.

4. Turtle Neck. The exaggerated turtle neck is also in, but most of us will end up with just this simple classic. For this one, I'd say, like the model, get it cut around the top of your jeans. Since the neckline is already loose, you're going to want just that peak of skin to balance it out. Baggy turtle necks are in as well, so again, see the chunky. I personally prefer the hip cuts though! You're, like I've said before, are going to want to keep that feminine cut.

5. Sneakers. The ultimate casual shoe that has somehow crossed to the fashionista side! Pair these loves with something feminine, bottom line. If it's those lacy flares, cute skirt (like in the pic) or some tight skinnies, anything like that will work. I suggest girly because shoes like converse are co-ed, and just a little touch will make a difference!

6. Cuffed Jeans. All of you who have been reading my posts (thank you!) know that I am a big fan of this look. It's easy, casual, and super cute! Just pair your cuffed jeans with a (girly) shirt and some sneakers, heels, booties, or flats!

7. Cardigans. If you want the maximum chicness (did I really just say that?) go with a nuetral colored cardigan with a pop of color somewhere! For example, one of my favorites is a black cardigan, black cuffed skinnies, a black tank and a  bright pink (like the pic) belt with sneakers. All the neutral with just one pop.

8. Skirts with.. I don't know what you girls call it, but I call it pantyhose or nylons. If you really want to wear that cute spring outfit, but it's a tad too chilly, slide on a pair of these babes! Also, a life saver for that morning you forget to shave. Just go with plain for everything else if you are going with the polka dots, which, I am now inspired to buy a pair of!

9. Fashion scarves. These sweets are just made of a light material (Polyester) that will keep you looking hot, but not so hot as in temp. I love to pair mine (I have at least twenty in my closet at this moment.) with a plain shirt so they can soak up all the attention! If it's neutral , you can go with a fellow neutral that matches (white and black usually work well!) like this girl with an eye catching jacket (I own all the items in this pic! Woah.) or if it's colored, go with a plain background and a chic jacket, such as the black leather.

10. Leather jackets! Speaking of the devils...Leather is always a chic, dressy casual, I'm-trying-but-not-too-hard, go -to fabric that has been my trademark since the sixth grade! So, if you wanna rock this rocking look, the most important thing (besides your smile of course) is too wear a great pair of skinny's!  You can wear a sweater under neath as well, a fashion scarf, with combat boots, with  a skirt, cuffed jeans, nearly anything.

My personal go to outfit is a black leather jacket, a feminine top with flow, a belt around my high waist (thinnest part of my body), cuffed black skinny's, and a cute pair of flats. Perfect for fall!

11. MOST IMPORTANTLY: THE CHUNKY SWEATER! I know, I had to put that in all caps to make sure everyone saw the high light of this post, not that they aren't all important...

Anyways, the sweater. I'll give you some rules and statements, since there is just so much:
1. Keep it tight! Not the sweater, but everything surrounding it should be fitted to keep you looking like you did  it on purpose, not just went thrift-shopping or forgot to do your laundry.

2.Keep the sweater of a light color (cream is my favorite) and all around it dark!

3. Take care of it! You don't want your chunky sweater looking like, again, the thrift shop or laundry situation.

4. Keep it girly! Nothing looks better (I'm sorry if I offend anyone here: girls should dress masculine if they please, I get that..It's just my opinion.) than a girl looking girly and great in her shape. So if you want to keep your shape, belt the middle around the thinnest part of your body.

5.Keep the surrounding fabrics really shiny and chic. Leather is your best option! This should balance everything out for you!

I hope that helped, please comment, share and +1. Thanks!

White Jeans: The Simple Do's and Dont's.. and Tips!

White Jeans. Let me give you the scoop on this modern trend! They're in for all seasons (only white for labor day? Uh, no. Wear what you want, Girl!) and can go with tons of tops. So, let's get started.
I'll first give you some basic white jeans Do's and Don'ts and then some of my favorite outfit ideas and suggestions.

Don't: Wear bright or dark underwear. This is a given, but please, that neon pink pantie set you just got from Victoria's Secret is not the correct undergarment to wear. Keep it light, thin, unbulky and subtle, please!

Don't: Overdo the white. We've all seen those outfits where white on white looks ah-mazing, but most of the time, it just looks weird. My suggestion (And I will talk more on this later) is that you keep your upper body more subtle and slim. A white tee with the same shade of white looks chic! But, the girl in this pic looks like Grandma's favorite doily.

Don't: Keep it loose. Yes, I know that you're scared of white jeans being too sheer and thinking that everyone can see through your jeans, but there is a line to be crossed. By all means, avoid the camel toe (which is especially easy to spot in white jeans, by the way) but keep it fitted for a modern, feminine look.

Do: Add some pattern! Tons of girls flinch when they think of white jeans paired with anything but a plain colored tee shirt, but patterned shirts with white in them are gorgeous. My number one tip is that the bottom stripe (I'm talking horizontal here) is not white. The most common color to go with your white jeans is a nice navy blue, like the picture.

Do: Keep it seasonal. We all love the white tee and white jeans, but that's just not right in the winter, no matter how warm it is. That's the unfortunate truth. But, white jeans brighten up the usually darker winter outfits and look great! Slip on your favorite sweater with some white jeans for a cute, casual, every day (or super chic) look. Make sure to see my Black and White outfit suggestion for this later.

White Jeans Outfit Suggestions:

Now, I'll be giving you some looks that are popular, that I've personally seen and loved and just some cute efficient looks for the remaining summer and later fall and even winter season.

White and Black. Add some smooth black to your white jeans outfit for a nice and clean look. I love this! You can do any kind of leather and make a black tee shirt look like a runway outfit with just a little help of your fav white jeans. Opt for a black belt to really highlight your hips and make your outfit go from a "that's cute" to a "Oh my god, you look AMAZING!".

The denim (Chambray) shirt. You can tuck in the shirt and add a belt or just let it hang loose. Either way, you'll look great.
Tip: Keep either the top or the bottom fitted. Usually for this look, you'll want a slightly loose shirt with your fitted white jeans.

White jeans and Flannel or Plaid. The colors in the flannel look great with the white and make a perfect casual outfit.

White and gold? Hello Fabulous. It's the perfect look for nearly any occasion including fancy dinners or just a walk down the street.

I also love the look of any pastels with white for a more springy look. We may be going into the season of dark clothes (hello, charcoal grey, you've been missed!) but keep this in mind for next year or the last sacred remaining days of summer.

White and Silver (and grey). The key piece here is the belt, which keeps the white and grey from clashing. So, if you want to pull off this look as well as the pic, get a metallic belt. It looks great!

Well Girlies, that's all I have for you today! I hope you have a *fabulous* summer and rock your new white jeans.

Denim Shirts; What To Wear With Chambrays

Chic. Modern. And can make just about any outfit cute? Yes, we're talking about denim shirts here.

I personally love this trend and I'm super excited to see it everywhere this year. It can go with a spring, summer, fall or winter outfit so I'll give examples on how to look great in any season!

Firstly, you must know that the most important thing about denim shirts is that you have to wear the right size. Keep them fitted and I'd opt for a tight waist to keep your curves looking beautiful.
Secondly, if you're wearing shorts or a skirt, tuck your shirt in. If you're wearing long pants, you have the option whether or not to leave it out.

The first and most common denim shirt look is to pair it with some white shorts. The shorts will make your legs look super tan (no need for hours in the sun here!) and will offset and not clash with the shirt.
I personally love to add on a thick brown belt, like the picture.

And then there's the white jeans. Skinny jeans are more common, but I also love the big flares. This girl is killing it with her thick belt and wedges.

The little black dress? Um, hell yes. Pair your masculine shirt with a fitted LBD for the perfect, chic, balanced look.

The maxi skirt. You can wear nearly any color or pattern maxi skirt you want and feel super comfy, looking super chic. Try a vibrant pleated maxi skirt to add just a little more to your everyday look.

My personal favorite is bright shorts with the denim shirts. They make your legs look great (the more neon, the better) and balance out the shirt with the perfect color scheme. Gorgeous.

Try a black skater skirt. I suggest tucking your shirt in to really highlight your waist and curves and even add a belt if you want to. It's perfect!

The feminine denim on denim. I love this look! You don't have to be wearing a skirt for this, just a fitted shirt and pants. I like the thought of exposing a little hip or stomach to really keep it light and summer-y.

Denim shirt and lace skirt. Again, tuck in your shirt to highlight your curves and add in a belt to really tie together your look.

And then comes the tight little skirt. That Taylor Swift song was named Style for a reason (I've got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt). I love this look for anything from going to the mall, an interview or a cup of coffee at your favorite shop.

Black Leggings. Those of you who have read some of my earlier stuff, you know that I'm usually not a fan of leggings. But, when paired with a nice chambray shirt, can look cute! I would love this look with a pair of nice boots for any ordinary day, like going to class or shopping.

And, you don't just have to wear your shirt normally. A simple tie around your waist is a unique, modern and hot look that's perfectly casual. Keep the rest of your outfit fairly discrete and keep the patterns to a low.

For a nice summer look, go for the tight and loose. Go for a fitted shirt, little skirt and then you can slide on a looser denim shirt. Going to a bonfire and it might get a little chilly? Done. Summer outfit with a light shirt to keep off the chills.

And of course, the black skinny jeans. You don't have to tuck your shirt in for this one! It's the perfect balance of loose and tight.

The point is, there are tons of ways to rock your denim shirt! I hoped this helped.
I know I'm really excited to pull off some of these looks this fall.

The Scoop On Summer Hats (2015)

In the hot summer sun, it's important to protect your skin with more than just the basic sunscreen. But, you don't want to ruin your outfit, do you? A cute summer hat is the answer. For many of us fashionistas, we flinch at the thought of a hat.  But Girls, fear not, for I am now here to help you find a cute, chic and efficient summer hat.

First things first, let's get to know our hats.

1. The Cowboy Hat. You're probably dismissing this look, but at least give it a shot. You can add a southern vibe, make an outfit boho or pair it with some cute patterns or fabrics for a nice summer feel. You can get tons of different styles (depending on your own preference) and match it to your daily wardrobe. I'm totally looking for a light leather brown cowboy hat to add to my boho outfits and protect my face (Um, wrinkles will never be in style!) from the hot and lovely summer sun.

2. Fedoras. I began avoiding fedoras years ago, but I think they got a bad rep. I would wear every single one in the picture above. You can add them to nearly any look to make it demure, modern, simple, artistic, chic and casual. Try wearing it with a classic tank and shorts for a relaxed summer look or pair it with your favorite LBD if you're hitting the city.
Tip: Make sure your colors match! That's my only concern. Remember that jeans look good with browns and whites look good with blacks. For a summer look, I'd generally stick to a creme, brown or straw fedora because I'm usually wearing light colors and denim.

Bowknot Banded Hat

3. Boater hats. Okay, so a boater hat is usually made of straw, with a ribbon of some color or design. Usually this ribbon is a neutral color (or your fav color) and is fairly thick. You can wear this with a ton of summer looks but I'd keep it casual. For example, try a basic tee  or tank and your favorite jean shorts and throw on a matching  boater hat. No sun damage and a totally cute and unique look.

4. Snapbacks (also known as trucker hats). These babies are perfect for a modern, casual and tomboyish look. Since I'm personally extremely girly, I'd stick to a fitted outfit with basic colors (the one in the picture is perfect) so I still look like a woman, but not a middle school girl. I suggest wearing your hair down if you want to keep it feminine.

5. Floppy hats. First of all, I feel that there is two kinds of styles for floppy hats and these styles depend completelty on the color.
Okay, so floppy hats are the most popular kind of summer hat and frankly, are super easy to wear. I'll add some outfit ideas below but basically, make the colors match and make sure you balance the level of tightness in your outfit. Meaning, a LBD and a floppy hat are perfect, but not a big sweater and boyfriend jeans and clunky boots. It's called Boho, not hobo, right?

A lighter colored floppy hat (or basically anything that isn't black) is typically more casual and I'd stick to them during the summer because 1. They're casual  and 2. Black hats are going to get insanely hot, just think about it.

Black floppy hats can be used for summer (as shown) but are usually for more sophisticated outfits and usually are more in the winter season. Remember that black absorbs all light, the most of any color, so if you're outside, the top of your head is going to be burning real fast.

Here's some outfit ideas:

Note: Like I said, the floppy hat is the most popular, so a lot of these outfits are based around it. However, you can usually sub in a fedora as well.

I LOVE THIS! Personally, I would have gone with a cowboy hat (not a floppy one) I still love the look of a cute and femineine dress with a hat. It's the perfect fun and free look for summer. Also, where can I get that dress? Based on the pattern, I'd guess it's a Forever 21.

The most basic look for a summer hat is definitely your favorite LBD with a classic floppy hat. It's perfect for a date, going to the beach, going to the mall and ever other way you may want to spend summer 2015.

Cowgirl hat and button down (or denim). You're probably thinking "Um, I'm not country?". Hold on! Look how cute she looks! It's an easy and casual look that totally is great for summer.

"OMG". I can't resist adding a fedora to a modern, trendy outfit to keep it chic as hell. The model in this pic looks gorg and her outfit is crisp and could be seen anywhere from the street, to the beach, to a little cafe in New York. She looks frickin amazing. Notice how her clothes are tight and feminine and the hat adds just a bit of tomboy cool.

Going swimming? Bring a hat! I suggest a cowboy hat or a fedora and especially a floppy hat. But, if you have a really trendy swimsuit, you can even wear a snapback.

Well, girls, I hoped this helped! I know after researching this topic, I can't wait to buy a cute fedora, floppy hat and even a sweet cowgirl hat.

Thanks for reading babes!
