The Guide to Summer Make up and Fashion!

So, I know some ladies have been wondering what kind of casual make up should be worn in summer, along with what trends will be hitting the streets this year...

Let's begin with the make up: Casually Beautiful!
Since summer, for me at least, is a time for me to be active and my skin to rejuvenate, here is the make up I recommend:

1. Concealer only

Instead of coating your face in base make up, just go with a little concealer to perfect your skin. The base will not only leave you with gross skin, it will also wash off in that summer heat, so just cover up a bit, have fun and don't worry about your base makeup dripping off your face!

2.Tinted Moisturizer

If you don't want to go completely face naked, try tinted moisturizer. It will even out your skin and take away that unwelcome shine while leaving you with a still natural look.

3.Bronzer

Sweep on a little  bronzer for a naturally sun kissed look. Apply some to the apples of your cheeks and forehead (or where the sun touches your skin) for a darker look. Just remember only dust on a bit to keep your face from turning orange!

4. Liquid highlighter

Apply some liquid highlighter above your cheek bones for that perfect amount of shine. It will look natural, but still will literally light up your face!

5.Clear Mascara

Try clear mascara over a waterproof mascara  for that extra volume without clumps. Also, clear waterproof mascara keeps those unwelcome raccoon eyes at bay!

6.Shimmery Eye Shadow

Apply a neutral shimmery eye shadow for glowing, natural eyes. Using colors like copper with brown eyes, or silver with blue eyes under the summer sun makes your eyes literally sparkle!

7. Natural Lipstick

Go with a natural shade of lipstick. You still want those perfect lips but really, stay away from bright shades! In summer, a red lipstick often clashes with all the bright colors surrounding you (it's summer, it's bright!) and can look like you've just eaten a cherry popsicle. Look for something close to your lip color to add the perfection to your lips.

Now that you have your summer make up, let's move onto what is in style in "Summer 2014" (I still get excited typing that!) and how to wear it!

First of all, is the high waisted denim shorts.  Most of the time, these shorts are of washed out colors (i.e. distressed) so make sure to pair a top that has colors that compliment them. For example, the color of the summer is defiantly yellow. Pair a yellow crop top (lose or tight, your preference) and it will flatter the shorts and make you look super tan. Tip: I've also found that floral cut offs work really well with these shorts.

Next is high waisted "High fashion" shorts... Basically, they are made of a stretchy cotton or anything that isn't denim. They are made for those of us who want to put a chic twist on the mainstream highwaisted shorts trend. Since this is such a general trend, just make sure to wear a complimenting color! Always tuck in your shirt if it's not a cut off and don't try a DIY cutting project with these. These shorts should be kept sharp, so keep your crafting scissors away from these babies!

Skater skirts are everywhere. They flatter almost everyone and are really easy to wear. You can tuck in a shirt and throw a belt over your waist or pair them with a crop top. This super casual skirt goes with pretty much anything!

Crop top shirts are all over the streets. To wear this look, try buying a loose top with a design or some sort of add on to it. Also, pair it with some high waisted shorts or a skater skirt for the cutest result! The only mistake I have seen with these shirts is the confusion of cute with sexy... Summer is a time to have some fun, not necessarily to run around with short shorts and a super tight crop top, trying to get some attention..Crop tops are totally fun and carefree, just like summer. So have fun wearing them.

Cut out jean shorts have not made their way to my city yet, but I can garentee they will! This DIY project has suddenly become a fashion trend.. So, if you like it, grab your scissors and cut your jean shorts however you like. Just make sure they are high waisted so the skin showing doesn't look cheap, but instead cute!

Last is the round glasses! This is the first time I have seen this type of sunglasses in, and I'm pretty excited about it! If you have a heart, round or square shaped face, these work for you! Chic Swimwear: Find the style that SUITS you!

Find the best swim suit to suit you, and yes, the pun was intended!

Since summer 2014 is upon us, here are a few tips and styles that will suit your build to make you look your best!

The purpose of this post is to help you highlight your best features and control the ones you don't want!

If you want to high light your bust:
Go a ruffled, beaded or pleated top!
Why? It adds volume and visual interest!
(This works well for people with lack there of a bust, so if you are built well, beware of too much!)

If you want to high light your hips:
Again, Go RUFFLES!
Why? Ruffles add the volume or just draw attention to that area.

If you want to high light your shoulders/arms (For those ladies who work out!):
Strapless!
Why? Well, it draws the attention right to your great collar bones, arms and shoulders.

If you don't like swimsuits:
Don't fret if you don't like being exposed!
Go Retro!
Why? You'll still look "tots adorbs' but you'll be covered!

If you want to tuck that tummy:
Go with a muted ruched!
Why? The muted color will draw attention away
from it while the ruched will slim it for you.

If you want don't want a bikini:

Try a tankini! I lived the first 14 years of my life in a tankini.
Pick a cute pattern that still high lights the areas you want it
to, and you're golden!

Tip: If you still want to show some skin, get a string halter! Like in the pic, you'll be showing off your great collarbones and shoulders, without exposing that tummy.

WHAT TO WEAR WITH YOUR BUILD:
If you are tall and thin:
Try High waisted!

Why? Because like Taylor Swift, in you wear two small bikini pieces, you may look like a string bean! The high waisted is super cute and adds a little more fabric which will flatter your tall build.

If you are: Petite:
Try a fitted tankini.

Why? Because of your small build, you can pull off nearly anything (except for high waisted) but since you are so small, a tankini would make you stand out at the pool! You can get any pattern you like and you won't be wearing the mainstream bikini. But, if you really want a bikini, make sure you look above to find the right pieces to high light your build.

If you are athletic:
Try a strapless bikini. Girls, you deserve it!
Why? Because it will be showing off your great shoulders and arms, and you'll get to also show off your toned tummy and legs. If you work to look good, then by all means enjoy the results! Make sure to find something to high light too, and you'll be the hottest babe on the beach!
If you are Curvy:
Try an underwire top!
Why? Well, if you ladies are well built, you want to show off your curves but.. don't want them to fall out right? So, get some underwire support in your top and unlike Candice in the pic, try to get straps. You won't sag and will look great, trust me!

If you are Big and Curvy:
Try a muted ruched  one piece.
Why? You're going to want to tuck in that tummy, which the ruched does for you. Too much of a bright color or pattern will be overwhelming! However, don't be afraid to show some skin! A little show of the legs will take the attention away from any tummy you may have and you'll feel confident. Tip: If you ladies are well built uptop, make sure to get a strong top or underwire.

If you have any other areas you would like to high/low light, there are just a few simple tricks!
If you want it to be highlighted, choose ruffles or a bright color or pattern.
If you want it low lighted, go with a muted/matte color.
If you want to be slimmed, so with ruched.
Find a style that suits you.

Good luck, ladies!

The Best Sunglasses for your Face Shape!

Everyone's face is a little different, along with their style and preferences. So, here is how to pick the sunglasses that will suit your face and really balance it out.

First of all, choose your face shape. Which one looks the most like you?

Option 1: Oval!

Option 2: Heart!

Option 3: Diamond!

Option 4: Square!

Option 5: Pear!

Option 6: Round

Now that you have your face shape, let's look at types of frames to enhance it and balance out that gorgeous face of yours!

If you are Oval shaped, try...
Well, you lucky ladies can wear pretty much anything! However, aviators usually work well on your face.

Also, give those glitzy designer shades you've been watching a shot!

If you are Heart Shaped, Try....
Cat-eyed glasses!

If you are looking for a little more modern and chic, try round sunglasses. They are more challenging but can be worn on your face.

If you are Diamond shaped, try...
Well, like the oval ladies, you guys work well with most all frames. However, be sure to stay away from those big angled sunglasses, since people with a diamond shape usually have very angular features.

You can try the exaggerated round.

Or just a typical round and cute!

If you are Square shaped, try..
Round glasses.

You can also try a really exaggerated round frame.

If you are Pear shaped, try..
Aviators! Since pear shaped faces are usually long, a tall frame will balance that out for you.

You can also try out something squared.

If you are Round shaped, try...
Sharp, angled glasses.

Also give the classic Ray Bans look a shot.

Well, now you have what shape of frames you need to get! I could go into detail of what color  but I'll save you the bore tonight. I hope this helped you find those perfect pair of summer shades!

Thank you!
