What To Wear On New Year's (2015!)

Whether it's going out on a romantic New Year's date, the college party of the year, staying home with friends or going to the club, there's a perfect outfit for you!

First, here's a couple guidelines to look into for choosing your perfect outfit:

1. Make sure it's comfortable. When the clock strikes midnight, you're going to be cheering because it's 2015, not so you can finally pull off those heels that were really cute, but too tall and didn't really fit.

2.Give it a little something extra. New Year's outfits are commonly covered in sparkles or glitter, or really big and fancy. So don't be afraid to pull that little sequined dress from the back of your closet, it is its time to shine!

3. Feel free to show a little skin. If you don't want to, that's prefectly normal. However, a lot of women and girls like to show a little leg to really get the party started! If you look great, you'll feel great. And if you feel great, you'll look great.

4. The most important part: Be happy, be confident and be you! New Years is a blast and a new beginning, so the best way to look great, is to have fun and be yourself.

Okay, now I'll go into some specifics for what to wear for whatever your plans may be.

If you're.. going to a house party.
Wear something that has a little sparkle, of course. For example, try a nice skirt or dress. Dresses are the most common, but like the picture, skirts can look great too.
Pick a length appropiote for you that won't slide up too much as you dance the night away! A Little Black Cocktail Dress (LBCD) will suit you just fine!

If you're going.... to a formal party.

Two words: Long. Glittering. Wear something that reaches your feet and is of nice material, which will look very elegant. Usually darker colors are preferred , so keep that in mind as you decide what to wear.

If you're going... on a casual date.
I'd say little black dress all the way! You still want to look beautiful and dress nicely, but be casual. If you want to fancy it up just a bit, add on some nice jewelry. Or, toss a couple nice accessories in your purse so when you get to the restaurant, you can decide what level of formal you want to be by just slipping on some jewels.

If you're going.. on a formal date.

I would say basically the same thing as a formal party, but don't be afraid of bright colors. You, on a date, have the perfect opportunity NOT to blend in and to shine. You go, girl.

What to Wear on First Dates!

The most searched fashion question on the internet is "what do I wear on a first date?" and I'm finally ready to answer it.
There are, of course, many different situations and branches, per se, for this topic. For example, what you may wear to a fall coffee date versus what you may wear going to a carnival in the spring or a fancy restaurant in the summer are completely different!

First, show off the thing you love about yourself. You'll look great and feel it too. For this girl, it's the legs.

Heels on first dates? How about.. Yes! Of course it depends on the date, but if you want to wear heels, go for it! It's not like he's going to get any taller on your second date. Your outfit is making you feel your best, remember?

Keep it classy! If it's just a general date, wear something cute, but almost work appropriate.

Dress up, not down! It's a lot better to be a little too dressed up rather than the other way around.

THE DON'TS!
  • Don't wear all black. I know it may seem like the fault proof choice, but it's boring! Show a little "you" with some colors you love!
  • Don't try a new outfit/trend: You should be both physically comfortable and comfortable with your clothes. You don't want to be tugging on that mini skirt you so-shouldn't-have-bought while you could have been having a good time... Try something you love and are comfortable wearing.
  • Don't go low-cut. You may think that extra little tint of attention may be the key to a second date, but not every guy is like that, Girlies! You can get a mid low cut, sure, but don't let him forget you are a high class lady!
  • Don't lather on perfume... Even if you're super nervous and may want to smell great, don't overwhelm the guy by smelling like a field of flowers. One rose is enough to smell, yeah? Less is more.
I'll next do some basic situations that you may know your date will be.. So, if you know your date will be...

Formal: The LONG black dress.. I know I just told you not to wear all black, but for a formal occasion, it works. Accessorize in the metals of your choice.  Keep to one though, so all silver or all gold, etc.

Cocktail hour: Cocktail dress, duh! I personally think something short and comfy is the perfect choice.

Casual: It's all you, Girl! Wear something you love and feel confident in, that's the most important thing. Dress in clothes that aren't faded and all that, and dress up just a little for the occasion. Again, blazers are perfect for the happy medium.
Coffee Date: A great pair of jeans. Heels if you want and a nice shirt. Bam, easy, done! Also, um, how do I get my stomach to look like this.

Movie Date: You're looking for comfy. You're stuck in those movie theater seats for at least an hour an a half, don't ruin your date by spending the entire time trying to find a comfortable position in that new, tight leather jacket you bought! Jeans, a nice shirt and heels are perfect. Also, major points if you sneak some candy in through your rockin' purse.
Lunch Date: Again with the blazer and button down.. Cute, casual and complimenting.

SEASONS

Spring: A nice skirt (like above), shirt and heels. Bring a jacket if you need to (or just to pull your look together) and enjoy your time. You're cute, confident and a little dressed up... He'll love it.

Summer: Your favorite summer dress! and heels... And whatever accesoires you like, depending on where you're going. If you're headed to a concert, you'll be sick of those super fab bracelets by the end of the night, they're heavy. Also, this outfit? Super chic. Look at those colors, that clean cut and those shoes. Gorgeous.

Fall: Skirts and Tights. Scarf it up if you want, or glam it up with your fav necklace. But basically tuck your shirt into a skirt (add belt if you want) with tights and maybe a pair of heels or ankle boots.. Or booties, my favorite.

Winter: It's all about that coat. (thanks to Meghan Trainor for creating a song that gets stuck in my head every time I say "all about that" ... You're the death of me, Girl.) Pick your favorite coat and show some legs (or wear some rocking jeans) to get a clean, crisp look.

Slay into the Holidays with Flying Colors: The Colors of Winter 2014

Hey girlies!

Since the holidays are upon us, I decided to talk about something that dictates the chicness of every outfit ever worn; color.

What are the colors of this season? What do I wear them with?
Well, Ladies, I am here to answer those questions for you! Here we go.

I like to split my colors into categories, so let's go with bright, jewel, soft and neutrals.

brights                             Yellow  Cherry, Cobalt,Cerulean , Royal

jewels                       Cranberry, Deep Emerald, Oxblood, Teal, Wine

soft tones             Petal Pink, Lilac, Lavender, Mauve Mist, Misted Yellow

neutrals                        Nude, Gray, Charcoal, Navy, Cream

Let's talk brights.
They are the perfect balance for the dark winter season and perfect tucked into a black skirt with tights. Perfect for jeans, perfect for everything!

1. Yellow! Pair this happy color with darker shades such as black and dark blue for a color combo that will really pop.

2. Cherry! Look cute sipping your cherry cola in this adorable color (and those silvers on Coke cans? One of the best colors to go with reds, including cherry!) by adding some metallic silvers and golds, or just some classic black and white.

3. Cobalt! Black skinnies and a pop of cobalt equals beautiful and ultra chic. By the way, can I have this jacket? Please?

4.Cerulean! Although this color is directly linked with Anne Hathway's The Devil Wears Prada, it's back on the runway. Again, the silver would look beautiful, as well as some subtle shades of deep black.

5. Royal blue! Wow, there are a ton of blues in this season! Anyways, as shown in the picture, pair this color with blacks and whites, and overall, go sharp! Sharp lines for sharp colors....

Jewels

1. Cranberry! Like in the pic, this color is very warm and comfy. So. pair it with some slick black jeans to balance everything out. Black leather looks beautiful.

2. Deep Emerald! Since it is such a deep deep color, I like more metallics with it. Silvers and golds! Christmas trees aren't covered with silver and gold by coincidence, right?

3. OXBLOOD! Yeah, that's all caps. This color has swept the world and is in every accessory. Hats, shoes, bags, shirts, skirts, sweaters, jeans, nail polishes.. The works. The simple black works, and a pop of metallic silver makes it work. Notice the belt in the picture with the black and oxblood.

4.Teal! Although teal doesn't seem like a Winter 2014 color, it's there. A little here, a sweater there. And next thing you know, teal is brightening the cold winter day outside (with the assistance of a caffeine packed coffee). It's a very casual color, so just wear with what you please. Black leather would look very chic... but like in the pic, some days blue jeans will pull off a perfectly cute and casual street look.

5. Wine! Although the drink may seem appealing, the color is even more so this season. Wear with blacks, greys (silvers too) and light wash jeans for a really casual look.

Tip: Google Aurora red for an interesting shade of red that might just make the runways...

Soft Tones

1. Petal Pink! This is yet another subtle color that you'll see in little things like your sweaters and favorite long sleeves, but don't ignore it! As you can see, the brown and blue jeans are very nice and casual... Black skinnies probably would have been my choice with this piece though...The brown belt with the half tucked?Beautiful.

2. Lilac! It's a mix between a little blue and grey and lavender.. Wear with some smooth blacks or dark wash jeans. Or, like the pic, double up the color to create a beautiful (I really love this look, it's absolutely gorgeous! The fitted jeans, small sweater and dark hair. Ahhhh!) outfit perfectly suited for the winter season.

3. Lavender! I.E. Lilac's cute cousin... Notice that the lavender has a little more of a pink undertone than the lilac... Wear with black and darker colors to balance out the springish tone of this color...

4. Mauve Mist! It's a lot less in than lavender and liliac, but it's our potential contender. Wear with black.

5. Pale Yellow! Yes, I used two pictures since I just couldn't pick.... So yellow. You can pair with bold colors such as the picture on the left (My favorite designer Ralph Lauren does this in nearly all of his collections) or for everyday chic, pair with blacks and whites.

Neutrals

1. Nude! Pair with a colorful outfit or everyday clothes to get a clean look that will keep you looking freshly chic.

2. Grey! Even after the novel so not describoing shades of this color, it seems to have made it. I love grey knits paired with lighter colors like mint, pale yellow and even petal pink.

3. Charcoal! Yep, this color is no longer that nasty black stuff, but instead a totally cute color to buy your next fav sweater in. It's a mix between dark gray and black, which is why it's most common in fabrics with threads and lots of weaving, such as sweaters. And since it's so dark, it looks great with mints, yellows and pinks.

4. Navy! This color has been a winter classic, and is in for yet another season. Yellows and creams (light browns as well) look the best with this color.

5. Cream! The perfect color for an oversized, chunky sweater. Can I have the one in the picture? Thanks.
Wear with dark blue jeans and colors like navy (dark blues).

Well Girlies, there you have it! 20 colors of the Winter 2014 season! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to comment below or message me. Also, please share on Facebook and other social media sites, it really means the world to me.

Chic Sweatshirts:There IS Such a Thing!

Now that sweatshirts have gotten a sophisticated update, they are not only acceptable to rock in the hallways of your school, but also totally chic! And.. Super comfy!

Here's a couple tips on how to pull it off:

1. Keep it crisp! And by crisp, I mean keep everything else in your outfit neat and fitted. So, some well fitted jeans, and ironed shirt underneath and pretty hair. Otherwise, you'll look like you just rolled out of bed!

2. Keep it feminine! Add on girly accessories to balance out the sweatshirt... Leather looks gorgeous.

3. Keep it YOU! With all the graphics, the quotes, the designs, there will be a sweatshirt out there for you. So even if you follow my little suggestions (or don't) enjoy the best part of this new trend; your own self expression.

Some ways on how to wear them:

1. Don't be afraid to get a little bad! Like I said earlier, sweatshirts and leather look amazing  together, so don't be shy! Pack on the kick-a** fabrics (and attitude) to really rock this look. I'm. In. Love.

3. Get loud! Pair your (bright, eye-catching and totally glam) sweatshirt with some big pieces to really hit this season's trend!

5. Get Expressive! Buy a sweatshirt with words, or in this case, numbers! I love what she did with the pleated skirt, which I will happily copy.

6. Get patterned! Add in some of your fav prints for a sweet, hot and chic style.

7. Get Graphic! Wear some BA accessories (such as the sunglasses and  ripped shorts) to really balance out that touch of Geek Chic.
Well Girlies, that's all I  have for you on the surprisingly chic sweatshirt...

How to Wear Flannlels or Plaid Shirts..The Chic, Hot Trend!

Hey, Girlies!
This little trend has been sweeping the word, under everyone's radar. It's now time to stop assositating it with cowboys and grungy dudes. Why?  Because this kickback trend is everywhere and is looking hot and we, lovlies, are going to rock it.

Here is how to trade in your casual dress for a tomboyish checked shirt... From the ultimate trend tracker- I.E. me.

First of all, get your colors right! There is nothing more common (well, maybe as common.. Such as badly fitting jeans) than an ugly plaid shirt. And even as a fellow fashionista I'll admit, finding the right colors together is a task. But you've got to do it! Look for colors that go well together, such as pastels, complimentary colors, or such. Such as, I personally have a light pink and light orange piece in my closet, and since the colors are so close, they work well together. However, my favorite is a pastel pink and mint green shirt I saw hanging longingly on a rack in some high budget store.

Secondly, get the fit! I personally like it fitted on me, with even a skinny belt in the middle to thin my waist... However, feel free to unbutton and slip it over a tight fitting shirt; that's perfectly fine. Just balance out the tight and the loose!

Third, rock it like a woman! This look is very masculine, so pair it with some of your girlier pieces. Also, leave just a couple (or three or four, if you're bold) buttons undone at the top. It will leave you looking more feminine, relaxed and open up your face! You can do girly hair and accessories as well to really get that balance on point. P.S. The example picture is perfect. I'd wear that RIGHT now!

Now, I'll give you some different ways you can wear this plaid trend...

1. The pure Tomboy.. Yeah, it's a little tomboyish, but that doesn't mean it isn't super cute... It's all your own style and preferance. I'd wear the grey skirt and a sparkling necklace (like the picture above this one) to really give it a nice touch... But that's just me... Feel free to boy it up, ladies!

2. The femmie... Thigh socks and short shorts keep you warm, while making you look hot! Enjoy that tempature pun. But really, she looks great.

4. The Grundge. Graphic tee? Check. Ripped high waisted denim shorts? Check. Leather bracelets? Check. Kickbutt look? You bet, sister.

5. The Skirt and Shirt. Sorry, no cute name for this  one! Anyway, tuck in your skirt into a skater/pleated skirt for a super flattering look. It looks super hot and super casual, perfect for...Always.

6. The Around the Waist.. Just tie your shirt around your outfit (Make it tight, neutral colors) for a super sweet every day look. P.S. I love the colors in this shot; the yellow pop in the stripes of the shirt with a pair of go-to black skinnies.. Ahhhh, lovely.

7. The BLJ. Black. Leather. Jacket. My first ever fashion statement has stayed true to this day, and even with the plaid shirt, looks fabulous. Glam it up with some jewelry, BA it up with your BLJ and amaze it up with your smile and ladies, you've got a killer look.

Well, that's all the looks  and tips I have for you girls today!
